Locations

This blog is going to be on the locations and why.

  • School, school is the main location, first act is mainly in the school since it’s just the teacher and Destiny, we are also going to use that same class room to act as the principle office and to act as the church, you may be confused on “how can a school be a church?”, but the classroom we are going it be using has a green screen in the back of the class, so we can use that green screen and edit it to be a church temple, and we just need to grab chairs for it.
  • The park, the park is also the 2nd main location, we mostly only have and need 2 locations so the park is for when the 2 friends are walking in the park and talking.
Those are the locations we are going to use and need for the film, also explaining why we need them and what not.

Equipments/ Prop

Our equipment is what we are going to be using to record the film and the props are the items we are going to need to create the plot, it’s not much either.

Equipment

For our equietment we are going to use a Iphone camera, that is what we are most sure of, and if our camera man can get a camera from their family member we are also going to be using that camera.

Props

Our props are going to contain of, a tissue box, for when Destiny is crying during her repentance, next we are going to need a computer, phone, and some type of snack on the table for when Destiny is sleeping in the classroom, to show she doing some type of work but also slacking off in the process.

Our Casting

For today’s blog, I will be giving the list of our castors, and their roles.

  1. Mr. Torrente, since he’s already a teacher and allowing us to use his classroom during study hall he’s going to play Destiny’s teacher.
  2. Allan, a friend of ours may play the main character.
  3. Our school principle, she’s going to play the principle since she’s already a principle we are going to try and ask her to be in our movie so she can be then principle in the film
  4. Jazlynn a team member, she’s going to play the friend depending on what park the film is going to take place at, if it’s close to her house or not.
And that is all we know of, we are still looking for more actors if needed but so far this is all I know of and hopefully whoever we ask can be in our movie, i’m going to try and ask another one of my friends to be in the movie because i’m pretty sure she volunteered to be in it, but we aren’t to sure, so what ever happens happens, hope you’re ready to see the final production.

Scheduling

Today’s blog post is going to be about me and my teams available times to meet each other and shoot the film.

For our scheduling for when we can shoot the movie, the main people in our group who are really needed for the shooting process are going to meet almost every Monday and Wednesday after school. We chose these days because these are the only true available days for us to do the shooting process. This process should take too long to shoot the videos.

After the shooting process, after the director makes all the sounds that need to be imported in and everything is ready to be transferred to the editor, the editor should be capable to edit the film whenever they have time to edit, which can be everyday or any day of the week at any time. During the making of the film process, the director and camera man should send us the most of the film that they have made so everyone can see everyone’s progress and everyone can pitch in and say what’s wrong with it.

The scheduling so important so we can know when everyone is available and able to meet up to being the filming process.

Lighting & Color

Today’s blog is going to be on our represented color and our lighting, and why they are what they are.

For our lighting we will be using a soft lighting to indicate gentleness

Here are the characteristics of the soft lighting, it says gentle, flattering, or moments of quiet reflection. The quiet reflection is good in the sense of the film being about a Christian girl so for her repentance it should be a quiet scene but it’s not, it’s more of a sad scene with descriptive dialog.

Next our color is white, here’s why our color is white

Our color is white because the white represents peace and purity, as if Destiny, she represents peace and purity since she’s a Christian, white also represents surrender and when you repent your basically surrendering from all your wrong doing to be better.

That’s it for today’s blog, I hope this blog helped you understand what out colors and lighting is for and what they represent, also teaching you something you may have never knew before.

Mise-en-Scene

Today’s blog is going to be about our mise-en-scene or everything in the frame.

First scene we’re going to need our actors, Destiny and Mr. Gomez, Destiny laying on her desk we’ll need a computer, a phone, and a bag for when Destiny gets up from her desk meaning we’ll need all of that and classroom tables. After that we’ll need just our actors and we’ll the some kids in the background or people in the background walking so it can look like a normal park day. For the suspension well need chairs for where the principal and Destiny to be seated at, the principle will also need things on her desk like her name tag maybe a apple and some water, she’ll also need some paper and some pens and pencils on her desk to make it look more realistic. In the church you’ll have the actors of course, from there we don’t really need much but the actors and some tissue for her cries to wipe her tears. Lastly we may need a car for when her friend leaves but there should be cars in the parking lot of the park anyways so we don’t have to get one of our own. The clothing of this should be like modest since the main character has now turned herself over to Christ, but in one of the scenes she may have to wear a little something that is less modest.

Representing

Today I will be discussing what our film is representing. On top of that I will also be breaking down what genres the film will be.

Our film is a representation of a modest and holy young lady. Representing the past and the now future of a young lady who had a hard and troubled life to who has now a modest and holy life. Almost showing how life as a teenager is or was for this young lady. Since she is already turned to Christ and changes her life in the moment of the film, she is modest. So we are doing a dramatic and religious film. The reason it’s a religious film is because, the young lady, Destiny, she and her friend decided to change their ways and turn to Christ, that’s the same reason it’s dramatic. Another reason on why it’s dramatic is because the girl is crying as she’s in the church temple. The movie can also be consider a comedy because, somewhere in the film they are laughing as they walk and talk about their past. For the most part of the movie though it’s really just dramatic and religion because the laughing part isn’t much of a comedy, it wouldn’t make the audience laugh so it’s more of a comedy for the characters.

All we have done today was give a recap on what the genres is and discussing what the representation of the whole film is.

Our Film Shots

This blog is going to be on the shots we’re going to be taking, although the shots were apart of the the storyboard, but that one may have been a little hard to see so in this blog i’m going to break it down for you.

First shot is an over the shoulder, showing her sleeping, then the camera will switch to show the teacher waking her. After that, she’s going to lift her head and BOOM a close up shot, close up shot is going to go into a two shot, two shot goes into a wide shot. Next blank because we are cutting to the next scene, next a two shot but this two shot is going to be a wide shot, wide shot go into a two shot. Then flashback, flashback is going to be a wide shot breaks away from the flashback and comes back to reality, that’s a wide shot.
From that wide shot we’re going to jump into a two shot, after that two shot it’s going to be another flashback, that flashback is going to take us into a two shot, that two shot becomes a two shot zoomed in so a close up two shot, then we flash out back to reality AGAIN, then we go back to a wide shot. Lastly that wide shot becomes a two shot, two shot becomes a long shot and BOOM where done.

That is all the shots broken down for you, no description just all the shots fading into which ever shot comes next.

Sounds

In this blog, I am going to be listing all the sounds we’re going to have and why we’re going to need them and maybe how we can get them. Most of these sounds are foley sounds, or sounds that we use everyday that we can use something else to create the illusion of that sound.

  • Birds Chirping/ Nature sounds- This is more so for the ending of the film, when the girls are walking and talking in the park, a way we can get these sounds can maybe find a bird that’s nearby chirping and maybe somebody can use their mouth to create a very small but realistic wind sound, or somebody who has a really nice bird call can make the noise of a bird and what not.
  •  Bell Ringing- The bell is for the very beginning of the film, when Destiny is sleeping on her desk and the kids talk as the bell begins to ring, we can get this sound by somebody using their own phone and searching up the sound of a bell unless the software the editor will have that bell sound, or a hard but good choice will be using the bell that’s in our school when the bell rings we can use that sound for the bell.
  • Walking- The walking is for all throughout the filming, this will be very easy to do though because walking is an everyday thing so we can record somebody walking or use something that sounds similar to walking that can give off an illusion of walking.
  • Crying- The crying is toward then end, during Destiny’s flashback, when she’s in the church crying, we can get this sound by recording a friend who knows how to face cry very good, or we can just use our actor to cry so it’s not that big of a deal sound, especially because she’s crying very soft it’s not like a big huge cry for help type of cry or like somebody just died type of cry just a little tears shedding.
  • Loud Boom sounds- The sound I am looking for is very hard to explain, but it’s like a bang like if you ever watched law in order the beginning the little dun dun sound, or a sound like when a judge bangs their little hammer thing, but this sound is going to be more so used toward the ending, during Destiny getting suspended, we can get the sound by banging on a desk or a wooden chair very lightly to make it sound how we need the sound to sound but also to make it a little loud but not too loud where it hurts everyones ears.
  • Whoosh-  The whoosh sound is going to be used for the flashbacks, the sound of it is supposed to sound like a wind type sound but if you’ve ever watched a movie or show that has flashbacks you’ll understand how the whoosh sounds and you’ll understand when I say it needs to sound like a flashback type of whoosh, we can possibly get the sound by heavy wind or using your mouth lightly to blow gently soft air creating an illusion to get the sound i’m looking for.
  • Door Closing- The door closing is also used in the very beginning when all the kids are leaving out also for when Destiny walks out he teachers class, we can easily get this sound by opening and closing a door somewhere in the school or at home, we can also just use the door that we will be using to close the door.
  • Dialog- Lastly, dialog is a type of all sounds yes but dialog is also communication, so the dialog is also use all throughout the film for characters speaking back and forth to each other, therefore this sound will be very easy to get, all they have to do is act, the characters just have to read the script and talk to each other like that.
This blog was just a description on all the sounds that we’ll be using, how well get them, and when they’ll be needed. You can also imagine how the sounds should sound because I described them if you get the reference.

Our Storyboard

Today, you will be reviewing our storyboard, or me and my teammates storyboard. The storyboard a paper with all the shots, angles, dialogs and what’s going to be happening in the moment of that scene.

Here is the front and the back of our story board. You can see all of the different sounds we have and the different camera shots we have. Along with those both you also see the action AKA what’s happening in the scene, which will help the actors know what to do also the picture helps the camera man and the actors so they know their places and what not. So the story board is a big help for everyone who’s going to be doing the film and who’s going to be in the film.

Characters

In today’s blog, I’m going to show you the characters so you can see a description of all the characters and more.

Here are all the characters on paper, giving their names, there background, characteristics, goal, and who they are to the other characters. Next, I’m going to show you the characters on a device. The one on the device is similar but it’s more of their personality and a range close to their age. It also tells their relation to the main character.

The Script!!!

First I’m going to show you the rough draft. Thts draft is the draft I’ve first though about and how I was wanting the first and how much changed the first script to next script.

Next I am going to show you the new script , and you’re going to see the amount of things that ive research before this and you’re going to see the amount of things I’ve changed in from the old script to the new script.

Now you have seen my draft from my script and how much it has changed. For example my first script her teacher woke her because she was doing bad in school, but for the next script her teacher is telling her something else. You can also see how the part of this is comedy and how the rest is Dramatic. So now you have read our scripting and seeing the changes and the rough draft, you best be ready for the outcome and how everyone plays their part of the role. Also in the script you can see my research from my post from not to long ago being on how to flashback, you can also see how I used many many things Ive research like for example the font of the letters and how I’ve used others scripts to help me with setting it up.

5 W’s

Last research was about the 3 C’s basically the 6 C’s, today’s research is going to be on the 5 W’s, Who,What,When,Where,Why. These will help the function of the whole production, showing all questions asked and answered, making it easier to know what’s going on in the film.

Here is the reason on why the 5 W’s are important and the meaning behind it, “questions used to gather and organize information”.

Here is the questions, starting with the Who, the who is the people who all play out in the story, helps understand who is who. The What, the what helps know what’s going on, we are going to skip over to the Why, the why and the what are in the same category because the what is what’s going on and the why is why is what’s going on going on? Next, Where, the where is where is all this stuff happening at? Helping the audience understand the setting which can help it make more sense. Lastly, When when is everything happening, helping understand why is the where aka the setting, why is the setting where the setting is and the time of day it is.

All of these establish what’s going, who it’s going on with, and where is going on at, helping understand the meaning and the reasoning on the whole backstory of everything, creating the sequence and reasoning.

3 C’s

Today for the writing we are going to be researching on the 3 c’. There are 2 types of the 3’c’s, but today we are going to be searching on both because they are both going to be very helpful during the script writing. The first ones we are going to be researching about is conflict, character, and concept.

The concept, concept is basically the main idea and the moral of the story, so the reason the story is what it is, the concept is important because it build up to the main idea. Second is the characters, the characters are the people who help build the sequence, the reason why things are the way they are or how stuff happens, the characters create the image on the whole production. Last, the conflict, the conflict helps create sequence and makes the story or production more interesting, pulling in more audiences.
The next set we are going to be talking on is clear, concise, and creative. Creative being the ideas, and using your imagination to make ur text or anything better. Concise, meaning using very few words but still getting your point across and still making the point noticeable. Lastly, clear, meaning almost the same as concise, meaning making it easier to understand, so the person who’s viewing your work can understand the point and not have to unscramble the plot and having to think on their own without knowing the message.

Today was a research day on the 3 c’s, but basically the 6 c’s. These will be very needed and necessary for my writing, so the audience isn’t confused on what’s going on and because  creates the sequence and other of the production, showing how everything is made all into one. Basically giving the plot and everything o the story, it’s also telling me to be creative in the making of the script.
